CHRIS DIAL brings nearly a decade of experience in craft brewing to everything he does—an industry that demands creativity, resilience, and hands-on leadership. As the co-founder of a family-owned microbrewery in downtown Chattanooga, TN, Chris built more than just a business; he cultivated a community hub that reflected his values and entrepreneurial spirit. From navigating operational hurdles to building customer loyalty, he gained a deep understanding of what it truly takes to launch and sustain a small business.
Beyond his own venture, Chris spent four years serving on the board of the Tennessee Brewers Guild. There, he played an active role in strengthening the state’s brewing landscape—advocating for legislative support, promoting collaboration among brewers, and championing the independent craft beer movement. His leadership within the Guild underscored his commitment to the broader industry and his belief in the power of shared success.
Throughout his journey, Chris faced his fair share of challenges, learning through experience rather than instruction. The wins taught him momentum, and the setbacks taught him resilience. With the support of trusted mentors and a strong professional network, he grew into a thoughtful, strategic operator—someone who understands both the art of business and the grit required to run one.
Now, Chris brings that same perspective to the world of insurance, bridging the gap between coverage and real-world business needs. With firsthand insight into the complexities small business owners face, he’s able to see beyond policies and paperwork. He approaches insurance not as a product, but as a strategic tool to support long-term stability and growth.
Chris works closely with business owners to understand their unique operations, risks, and aspirations. He doesn't just respond to today’s needs—he helps plan for tomorrow’s challenges. His goal is to create tailored insurance strategies that protect the business, the people who make it run, and the future it’s building toward. Rooted in empathy, fueled by experience, and driven by a genuine desire to serve, Chris is redefining what it means to be a partner in risk management.
Our very own Chris Dial sits down with Craft Brewery Finance’s Kary Shumway to uncover the blind spots that put craft breweries at risk—and how the right insurance partner can save your business from disaster.
